Who we are: The Athens Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is comprised of parents, teachers and administrators who work together to raise funds, provide volunteers, and organize events.
What we do: We provide volunteers and financial support for all kinds of events including student clubs and activities, All Night Party, Prom, and much more. students whose families are members may apply for senior and underclassmen scholarships, and we provide teacher members with enrichment scholarships. How to join: If you have a student at Athens, you may fill out the Athens PTO Membership Form and Directory Order Form and submit the form along with $15.00 dues to the Athens PTO mailbox (or the PTO table during registration). You will receive a Student Directory as part of your membership. Additional directories may be purchased for $5.00 each. Membership is open until October 31, or 60 days after your student begins attending Athens. Teachers complete the Teacher Membership Form and submit with dues to Athens PTO mailbox. When we meet: We meet the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 7:00 p.m. in the Staff Lounge (across from the back doors, of the cafeteria). We do not meet in December. Meeting dates for the 2012-13 school year are: September 11, 2012 January 8, 2013 April 9, 2013 October 9, 2012 February 12, 2013 May 14, 2013 November 13, 2012 March 12, 2013 June 11, 2013 How to help: The PTO has several volunteer opportunities; see the Athens Newsletter for volunteer event dates and times.
